Server & Software Maintenance Retainer
24/7 monitoring, patching, and backups for your AWS/Linux servers and production software, plus ongoing maintenance for existing Python APIs and data pipelines — hourly or as a monthly retainer.
1. What's included
Uptime and disk/memory monitoring, security patching on a regular schedule, tested backups, dependency updates for existing APIs, and error triage when something goes wrong — for AWS/Linux servers (EC2, RDS/PostgreSQL, Docker, Nginx) and the software running on them.
2. How it starts
We start with a short audit of what you're running — servers, databases, deployment setup — so the retainer is scoped to your actual systems instead of a generic package. From there it's a fixed number of hours per month, typically 5–10, covering monitoring, patching, and a defined response window if something breaks.
3. Pricing
Hourly work is $65–85/hr. Ongoing retainers typically run $500–2,000+/mo depending on scope. Month-to-month — no long-term contract required.
Frequently asked questions
How many hours per month does a typical retainer include?+
Most retainers run roughly 5–10 hours per month, scoped to what you're actually running — enough to cover monitoring, patching, backups, and routine fixes.
What happens if something breaks outside business hours?+
Retainer clients get a defined response window as part of the engagement — we'll agree on what "urgent" means for your systems before anything goes live.
Do I need a long-term contract?+
No. Retainers are month-to-month, and one-off work (a fix, an audit, a migration) can be billed hourly with no ongoing commitment.
